This manual aims to increase the knowledge of family members of persons with I/DD about the various ways under Florida law to provide decision-making assistance, including guardianship advocacy and guardianship, and how to access the legal system. Discrete areas of civil rights, self-determination, decision-making, person-centered-planning and options for providing decision-making assistance from least restrictive to most restrictive are covered. Examples of scenarios and learning activities are included.
